Why Opt For Drug & Alcohol Testing?
It has never been more important to protect your business, customers and staff from the increasing use of ilicit drugs and substances both at home and, regretfully at an ever increasing and alarming rate in your work place or employee’s own home.
Data collected confirms that no single sector of industry can or should be complacent in dealing with this almost explosive pandemic use of substances once only whispered or at most dealt with in isolation. These are the most trying of times for each and everyone of us, and of course our most valued assets, our staff and employees. The added pressures faced by individuals have increased exponentially in a very short period of time, unfortunately this has coincided with a huge increase of elicit substances now easily available in all sectors of society.

Our tailormade pathway approach to your specific and individual needs is more than a solution, its a partnership designed to offer you the support and recognition you are required to prove you have in place for you and your employees, as set out by the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.

Methods of Drug & Alcohol Testing
The use of a urine test kit is a fast and simple solution that provides an initial result in minutes. Our fully qualified and empathetic staff have been trained to the highest of our industries standards to undertake this test process with care and dignity with you, our clients specific needs and wishes top of mind.
Oral Fluid (Saliva)Testing
Some companies use a saliva test. With this test, a sample of applicants' saliva is collected from inside their mouth. The saliva is then tested and can show drug use ranging from the last few hours up to a few days. Detects drug use in hours to days. Preliminary results are effective and onsite within minutes.
Do not underestimate the effects and influences that Alcohol has on your work place across all demographics and ages groups. This easily and legally obtainable “drug” is by far and away the most prevalent cause of accident and injury in your work place, be it at a work function, a lunchtime breakaway or regretfully the arrival to work in an inebriated state.
Synthetic Drug Testing
Synthetic drug abuse is growing in popularity due to misconceptions about these drugs being safer than other drugs of abuse, or the thought that synthetic drugs can't be detected on a drug test.
Synthetic drug testing is an effective substance abuse prevention measure.
Hair follicle Testing
Hair follicle screening offers advanced technology in detecting the history of past and current drug use.
It is more commonly used in pre-employment drug testing but also can be used in custodial and p cases. Hair follicle testing can detect up to 90 days and further possibly detecting up to 12 months of drug use and / or abuse.
Methamphetamine use is on the rise. Unfortunately, it may be present in your rental or new purchase . A carefully crafted meth-testing program can help protect against the impact of meth abuse in your rental. Most results are available within 2 working days of sampling or a faster turn around can be arranged upon request (within 24hrs) at the laboratory if needed.

Frequently asked questions
We highly value our customers and consider ourselves not only your provider, but also your partner in workplace drug and alcohol testing. No matter the size of your business, we are here to support you every step of the way. And that includes a transparent process. Here are some questions you may have but if there is anything you want to know, please just ask us.
Very simple .You engage our services for a variety of reasons. A DATS staff member and testing vehicle will turn up to site or place of your convenience. Our friendly staff will greet the donor and assist them to the testing vehicle where the process will take place in a clinical environment. Our staff will fully explain the process to the donor to put them at ease and ensure they fully understand the reasoning behind the process. A signed consent is obtained and the the screening is completed without delay or fuss. The results are then electronically delivered and the appropriate actions or process to follow depending on the outcome of the screening results. If the results from screening are negative then the donor is then able to leave the vehicle at will and that part of the process is complete.
Should there be any further analysis required then this process is again fully explained to the donor and the appropriate people notified once complete. Again our DATS friendly and skilled staff are here to answer any questions the staff member may have. Our staff will be fully aware of your companies policy and procedures to help ease the process further.
More often than not; people can feel anxious when encountering a drug and alcohol test. They often have concerns like those surrounding the privacy, communication and handling of their test results. There is also a very real risk of sometimes confusing cross reacting medications and ill-informed information by under qualified collectors. Our qualified staff are here to help!
If people are not taking illicit drugs but taking some sort of medication, DATS staff will properly explain to the person being tested about the importance of medication and the possible detection within the process and the companies procedures around such identification.
Of course the majority of people that we test will not test non negative and their experience with the testing process must also be performed respectfully and with a caring approach.
Our expert collectors are trained in ensuring that your workplace is not unduly disrupted by testing activities. We also ensure that all staff are treated with the utmost respect, privacy, clinical hygiene and concern for their health and welfare.
All DATS staff are skilled in performing on-site drug testing efficiently and compliantly. We also ensure that your valuable staff are not disrupted by testing activities no more than is entirely necessary.
Our staff are qualified to ensure that risks to your staff are minimised. This can only be achieved from a clinical approach to the collection process.
As an employer, we also understand that you can be anxious to ensure that your workforce is treated with respect. It is also vitally important to us that staff who are tested have a good experience during testing and can get on with their work without disruption.
